Fiber ready
Working together on fiber connections with impact
Fiberklaar is a Belgian company that builds fiber optic networks in Flanders. It offers fast and reliable Internet connections through an open network model, on which different providers can offer services. Fiberklaar's goal is to give as many Flemish households and businesses as possible access to future-proof digital infrastructure. They want to stimulate digital innovation and growth by making future-proof infrastructure available.
Fiberklaar is all about an efficient rollout of fiber optic connections throughout Flanders. To achieve this, Fiberklaar has partnered with Lemon for a fully digital journey, focused on both the end user and the subcontractors. Lemon brings not only technical expertise, but also a human approach crucial to the success of this project.
Organizational analysis and collaboration with subcontractors
The project began with a thorough analysis of the Fiberklaar operation (e.g., with their subcontractors). Field research, going out on the road with Fiberklaar, provided insight into existing practices and possible optimizations. It turned out that the homesurvey processes, performed by subcontractors, can be time-consuming and dependent on whether someone is at home or not. Lemon proposed the development of a central appointment module, where the status of each survey is immediately visible to both Fiberklaar and the subcontractors. This ensures smooth collaboration and more efficient communication.
Journey mapping of end users
In addition, extensive customer journey mapping was conducted to identify the needs of end users. The goal was to develop a simple and user-friendly homesurvey app that guides residents in conducting their homesurvey independently. This took into account various home types, technical ability of residents, and cultural differences. A self-service option via an app proved key to saving time and increasing efficiency for both Fiberready and residents.
From field research to software development
Lemon not only took on the survey, but also developed the software solutions for Fiberready. The homesurvey app, built in Flutter, uses advanced features to guide residents in identifying the right amenities in their homes. The app's flexible and scalable architecture allows it to easily adapt to the different needs of both residents and Fiberklaar. In addition, its integration with existing systems ensures that all collected data is readily available for further processing and validation.
Results and future
The collaboration between Fiberready and Lemon has resulted in significant efficiencies. With the introduction of a self-service home survey and better data exchange with subcontractors, the costs and time involved in installing fiber optic connections are expected to decrease significantly. In the future, Lemon sees potential for further digitization, with even more customer-focused features and optimized communication processes.
Conclusion
The collaboration between Fiberklaar and Lemon illustrates how digitization and technology can be used to streamline complex processes. From field research to software development, Lemon has proven to be a reliable partner for creating innovative solutions with impact. This project is not only a success for Fiberklaar, but also provides a blueprint for future projects in the telecom sector.
