On June 7, Axoniq and Lemon Companies are hosting a Tech Talk around Event Sourcing, Domain Driven Design and the Axon Framework.

‍Guest speakerand absolute expert within this domain is Allard Buijze (Founder Axoniq).

We couple this with a session on digital strategy to demonstrate how strategy and architecture can perfectly go hand in hand. This event will take place at The Clubhouse in Kontich, food & drinks will be provided.

Our applications must become faster, better, bigger, smarter and more fun to meet the needs of our demanding end users. In recent years, the way we build, run and use our software has changed significantly. We use scalable platforms to deploy and manage our applications. Instead of large monolithic applications, we now deploy small, functionally consistent components as microservices. Problem. Solved. Right? Unfortunately, for most of us, microservices, and especially their event-driven variants, do not live up to the beautiful, fairy-tale promises that surround them.

In this session, Allard will give a different perspective on microservices. We will see that not much has changed in how we build software, which is why so many "microservices projects" fail today. What lessons can we learn from concepts like DDD, CQRS and Event Sourcing to manage the complexity of our systems? He will also show how message-driven communication allows us to focus on finding the boundaries of functionally connected components, which we can evolve into microservices, should the need arise.

Founder and CTO of AxonIQ. From the age of six, he developed a great passion for programming and guided large and small organizations in building efficient and scalable applications. Now he is on a mission to help organizations implement large-scale systems with ease. He initially created the Axon Framework as an experiment, but when organizations started using Axon, AxonIQ was born.
