ski trip
Once a year, the entire Lemon Tribe heads for the snow. After two years of corona, we were looking forward to it more than ever! THE LEMON SKI TRIP
On March 9, for most of you a weekday, we got into our lemon cars after a day of developing and designing. By the way, have you spotted our lemon cars yet?
The trek to Alpe d'Huez
Alpe d'Huez has about 250 km of groomed slopes. Of which one is 16 km. Ideal for us. For if you do not know we are a super sporty gang!
After a 9 hour trip, and a few McDonald's visits later, we arrived in Alpe d'Huez. As it was already quite late, we quickly went to bed. And a good thing too, because in the morning we still had to get our ski equipment.
After much trying and trying, most of us were able to get out on the slopes, I say most because Laurent was very eager to try every ski bot in the business.
Skiers among us
Some super sporty people immediately got on the ski elevator towards the black piste. By the way, did you know that our ladies are real natural talents? Elise, our UX/UI designer, and Kirsten, our salesperson, ski from the bottom of their legs, while Vincent, Tom and Lex try to keep up.
Lemons were also to be found down the slopes, with a little less speed but with at least as much fun, some of our Lemons took their very first steps on the ski slope. Fortunately, there were enough colleagues to help them (okay, sometimes we laughed too).
In the afternoon we enjoyed the sunshine and found a great dish. If you like cheese then this is really for you!
Après-ski
After a full day of skiing, we gathered for some après-ski, fortunately Alpe d'Huez is an ideal place for this as well. In the Folie Douce we again gave our best and so the first day on the slopes gradually came to an end. We returned to our home and enjoyed a cheese and wine evening.
After a good night's sleep the pistolets and croissants arrived at the door. With a good breakfast inside, we went to explore the slopes at Vaujany, some again on skis and others went on foot (Laurent first went to exchange his bones because they were not the right ones). Because pictures speak louder than words I refer you to our super cool aftermovie!
Evening Game
The atmosphere management team had prepared an evening game with fun tasks such as singing songs while you can only say "Lemon" or recognize pets of our colleagues or remember the Totems of Wouter, Ivan, Sven, Ellen, Cis. After another night of good laughter we crawled into our beds, tired but satisfied.
Last Day
Ski day 3 dawned, and today we were going to take a smaller ski elevator up the mountain. Since we were sleeping in Vaujany we could also take an elevator up there to get to the area and explore some of the other slopes. So said and done, we did not go to Alpe d'Huez that day. We can warmly recommend taking the smaller elevator and in Vaujany, and enjoy a little more peace and quiet.
The last evening meal was at l'étape de montes & merveilles, where we enjoyed a three-course meal to lick our fingers! A delicious tomato soup to warm us up, followed by a ham with croquettes and vegetables and for dessert a brownie with whipped cream. Once our stomachs were filled, we returned to our accommodation for a karaoke night, where everyone could bring out his best singing voice. Note to self: bring earplugs next year!
And so finally the last day and this great ski trip came to an end, all that was left was to pack up and start the journey to the ClubHouse.
